Volunteers

Outstanding Volunteers Spotlight

GRACE is honored to recognize Outstanding Volunteers, Chet, Becky, and Mary Lamers. The Lamers Family was presented with this award at a Mass on December 9th.

GRACE proudly celebrates two generations of the Lamers Family with the GRACE Outstanding Volunteer Award. Chet, Becky, and Grandma Mary Lamers embody the true spirit of service. They have shown us all that volunteering isn’t just about giving time—it’s about giving heart.

Becky Lamers has quietly and consistently been a part of the Notre Dame of De Pere Home and School Committee under many different chairs, she is hands-on for class parties and school events and never fails to ask, “Anything I can help with?” when she pops into the office to buy scrip.

Similarly, Chet Lamers is a long-time member of the Notre Dame of De Pere Site Advisory Council and an active member of the GRACE Board of Trustees. Chet dreams big and is willing to get his hands dirty to make those dreams come true. Chet, like Becky, never fails to ask, “What do you need?”

Grandma Mary is grandmother to two current NDDP students, Brinley, and Caleb, but cares for many in the school like her own. Grandma Mary has quietly wrapped many of their classroom library books in contact paper to ensure they last through many reads. When a group of second graders were scared of the bathroom, Grandma Mary lovingly made them “worry worms” to help calm their fears.

Lamers Family: your selflessness and dedication inspire us all to be better, do more, and look out for one another. Congratulations, and thank you for being such a shining example of servant leadership in action! You are a blessing to our Notre Dame of De Pere school family!
