6th Grade Religion

  • 6th Grade
Hi there! My name is Katie Summers, and I will be joining the Notre Dame team as the Middle School Religion teacher. I graduated from St. Norbert College in De Pere in May 2015, where I majored in English and got certified in Education. I studied abroad in Cork, Ireland for a semester and LOVED it! I'm looking to head back for a visit soon. I absolutely love traveling! Some of my favorite places include: San Diego, Portland, New Orleans, and so many more! I am very into music and making music. I sing in a few different bands, mostly Christian worship music. We sing for many weddings during the summer, so that usually keeps my pretty busy! I started my teaching career at Notre Dame as the ELA teacher, so obviously, I LOVE reading and everything about Literature. My favorite authors include Jane Austen and Mitch Albom. If you ever have any questions or concerns, I do regularly check my school email: ksummers@gracesystem.org

The 6th grade program of the Christ Our Life series is devoted to the study of God’s saving love as it is revealed in Sacred Scripture, particularly the Old Testament.  God Calls a People is designed to help the students increase their knowledge of salvation history so that they may respond to God with ever-deepening love and gratitude.  Students should come to a deeper appreciation of the person of Christ and of his presence in his Church through the study of salvation history.  They should grow in their relationship with God and in giving witness to their faith.
