Monthly Service Trips

Here at Notre Dame School we take pride in putting our faith into action within the local community.  On a monthly basis, teachers, students, and parents spend time serving the needs of our local community.  Some of the places Notre Dame School reaches out to include but are not limited to the following:
     *homeless shelters
     *senior centers
     *food pantries
*homes for the mentally and physically challenged
     *Goodwill and Salvation Army, etc.

Individual Service Hours

In addition to our monthly service trips, our students are required to put in an additional 11 service hours each year.  Their efforts take place within their parish communities, the local community, and mission trips.  This past year our students completed well over 6500 hours of service!

Further Outreach

In addition to the above service, our school conducts drives to meet the needs of others on a local, national, or global level.  In the past we conducted a drive to meet the needs of hurricane victims in Central America.  We contacted a local trucking company and made arrangements for our collected items to be transported to the tip of Florida and then shipped through the Panama Canal to a port in El Salvador.  Individuals from the local community flew there and hand delivered the many needed items to those suffering the devastation of the hurricane.

Other efforts have included things like purchasing an Arc of animals for the Heifer Project, serving the needs of the poor in various countries throughout the world; raising over $5000 for the victims of Hurricane Katrina; as well as providing Christmas gifts and meals for families in need.  Each year during the Advent and Lenten Seasons we make an effort to conduct a drive or two to help meet the needs of others.
